Steve McQueen was the king of cool, both on-screen and off-. To pay tribute to this Hollywood legend TAG Heuer launched the fantastic Monaco Calibre 17 Gulf in 2005 in an edition of only 4,000 pieces produced.

The red, white, and blue stylings of the dial are a nod to McQueen’s driving suit in the 1971 film Le Mans. Speaking of which, with this watch’s capabilities you may fancy some driving of your own.

To assist in this endeavor, there is a small seconds counter at 3, a date window classically positioned at 6, and chronograph functions that include a large red center seconds hand and a 30-minute counter at 9. Telling the time in low light is a snap with luminous hands and markings on the hour.

As a self-winding automatic watch, under the hood we find TAG Heuer’s caliber 17, which is based upon ETA 2894-2. This movement possesses 37 jewels and gives you a 42-hour power reserve.

The uniquely shaped partially brushed and polished stainless steel case measures 38 x 38 mm, is 13 mm in height, and rests upon a calfskin leather strap with a stainless steel deployant buckle.

Additional case features include a solid caseback with engraved company's logo in relief, a push / pull winding crown, a 50 m / 5 atm water resistance, and a plexiglas crystal.
