A Japanese electronics company that is much heralded for its timepieces, Citizen Watch Co. also happens to be the parent company of Bulova. Japanese and Swiss investors launched the brand back in 1930, and ever since Citizen has wowed the world with innovative works such as the world’s first multi-band atomic watch as well as the visionary solar-powered Eco-Drive series.

This Grande Complication by Citizen offers a mind-blowing host of complications that will serve to thrill you over and over again. As a quartz-driven timepiece, its movement has been totally hand-assembled for dependability and smooth functioning.

The fascinating tri-dimensional dial, which is a gorgeous dark Burgundy color at its center, accentuates the large printed Arabic numerals around the outer rim that are easy to read. Moving inward, there is a convenient minute ring as well as skeletonized hands.

Starting at the 12 o’clock position we have a lovely moon phase indicator; at 9 there is a date and day of the week subdial; at 3 we have a 24-hour indicator; and at 6 there are month, leap year. Chronograph is used when the watch is set into the chronograph model by activating button at 8 o’clock position. Chronograph can be used a regular chronograph as well as split-second function. In addition, there is a chime function.

The massive stainless steel case measures a healthy 39 x 53 mm, is 16 mm in height, and rests upon a brown leather strap with a stainless steel deployant clasp for added safety. Other case features include a solid case back and a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.
