The famed Japanese watch company Seiko traces its roots back to a
watch and jewelry shop that first opened in 1881 in Tokyo’s Ginza
district. Seiko can mean either exquisite or success in Japanese, two
words that the brand continues to embody to this day. Offering a dynamic
range of timepieces at a variety of price-points, Seiko offers
something for everyone.
First released in 1967, the 44GS Grand
Seiko has bravely evolved over time. In a sense it has been reborn for
the twenty-first century—consider it an oasis of quietude against a
backdrop of noise.
The thermally blued steel seconds hand
is prominent against the radiating dial design, while the hour markers
provide a calm continuity. The stainless steel case measures a slim and
comfortable 36.5 mm in diameter, 11.6 mm in height, and rests upon a
stainless steel bracelet with a three-fold clasp with a push-button
release for added safety.
As a manually wound watch, Caliber 9S64
is the star of the show with 24 jewels and a convenient 72-hour power
reserve. It sports a magnetic resistance to 4,800 A/m and as the
mainspring of the movement unwinds, its torque gradually lessens to
deliver increased accuracy.
Additional features include a
screw-down case back, a 100 m / 10 atm water resistance, and a
scratch-resistant antireflective sapphire crystal.
From its refined minimalist stylings to
its reputation for accuracy, we believe this Grand Seiko Heritage
Collection 44GS timepiece will hold a most special place in your
collection.
