A
relative newcomer to the Swiss scene, Pierre Kunz earned his medals by
studying at the Vallée de Joux watchmaking school and crafting grande
complications in the workshops of Victorin Piguet. His big break came
when the legendary Franck Muller extended an offer for Kunz to create
his own models at the famed Watchland Park at Genthod.
Refreshingly unique in its stylings
and functions, this Pierre Kunz Bi-Retrograde timepiece will surely make
a stunning addition to your collection.
First, the engaging skeletonized dial
is a riot of layers, color, and function. The upper left portion of the
dial is devoted to a retrograde hours function, while to the right you
will find a retrograde minutes. The time can be read via bold yellow
skeletonized hands.
Beneath the retrograde functions we
encounter a gorgeous Tahitian mother of pearl area with seven large
stars and an intriguing moonphase indicator.
While the dial is designed to reveal
the fascinating interior workings of the watch, you are also in for a
treat upon turning it over. With the exhibition case back you can peer
ever deeper into this functional work of art to see the movement in
action, which, in this case, is Pierre Kunz’s own PK 2001, a
self-winding automatic caliber with a 42-hour power reserve.
The handsome stainless steel case
with elegantly polished chamfers measures 44 mm in diameter, 12 mm in
height, and rests upon a black leather strap with bold yellow stitching
and a stainless steel prong buckle. Additional features include a
scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and a 30 m / 3 atm water resistance.
From its handsome, singular stylings to
its expert construction, we are pleased to offer this Bi-Retrograde
Tahiti Mother of Pearl Moonphase watch by Pierre Kunz here at
significant savings.
