Swiss watch producer Vulcain is renowned for creating a practical alarm complication for wristwatches with the Cricket caliber in 1947. With roots reaching back to the mid-nineteenth century, the brand became a preferred watch of explorers and U.S. presidents. Timepieces by Vulcain were enjoyed by presidents Eisenhower, Truman, and Johnson, and, in fact, to this very day continue to be owned by U.S. presidents.
